How To Be A Christian
The main theme of the Bible is God’s love for you and all people. This love was shown when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world as a human being, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead. Because Christ died, your sins can be forgiven, and because He rose from the dead you can have eternal life. You can know for sure what will become of you after you die.
This gift of forgiveness and eternal life cannot be yours unless you willingly accept it. God requires an individual response from you. The following verses from the Bible show God’s part and yours in this process:
Admit you have sinned.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
Believe in the Savior.
"But as many as received Him to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12)
Confess Christ and forsake your sin.
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
Prayer of Salvation.
Dear Jesus, I ask you right now to do what no one else can do, to save my soul and forgive me of all of my sins. I believe with all my heart that you are the Son of God and that you love me so much, you died on the cross for my sins. I ask you now, to come into my heart to be my Savior and Lord. I thank you for dying on the cross for me and I thank you that you rose from the dead 3 days later. I believe that from this moment forward, I am now your child, and you are now my Lord and Savior. I thank you Jesus that heaven is now my eternal home. With your strength and grace, I will follow you all the days of my life. Thank you Jesus for saving my soul! Amen
